About: Brian has over 30 years experience in the construction industry having worked his way up “through the ranks” to his current position. He is now Glasgow based with his main responsibility being to lead the Glasgow team in the realization of their goals in producing high quality/ high value engineering solutions, together with the general day to day overseeing of the office.
He joined the practice in 1986, progressing to Senior Engineer then to Associate in 1999 and Director in 2001. He was first elected to Structural and Civil Engineering Institution Membership in 1993 and 1996 and elected a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers in 1998, being a Graham Wood prize winner that year. He became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2005.
Brian is involved at the front end of the design and construction process, acting as Project Director on many varied projects including, the new Glasgow Council Social Services Headquarters in Govan, various Holiday Inn Express Hotels throughout the Central Belt of Scotland, the innovative Scottish Seabird Centre (North Berwick) and the Hospital Gate enabling works redevelopment in Glasgow’s Clyde Bank.
Brian's patience and broadminded approach synchronizes well with his natural drive and enthusiasm, especially when presented with particularly difficult problems. He will always look for a way forward and surpass expectations.
