Firrhill Respite Centre is situated on Oxgangs Road North at the junction between Colinton Road. It is essentially a single storey building with some double height spaces and is of steel frame construction with timber stud infill panels. The building is predominantly timber clad with areas of curtain walling and glazing set within the cladding. The mono-pitched roof is a combination of zinc sheeting and single ply membrane supported on steel purlins.
The building has been designed to sit within the landscape with the style being based on pavilion and garden architecture. The centre offers respite accommodation for a small group of clients providing private bedroom accommodation and communal facilities to the front larger height space which connect with the surrounding landscape.
