Queen Anne Building, Edinburgh Castle

Queen Anne Building, Edinburgh Castle

Client: Historic Scotland
Architect: Historic Scotland
Cost: £2.0m

Refurbishment/extension of existing building to form new function room, kitchen, café and education facilities.

A successful blend of contemporary with the historic is particularly evident in the new planar glazed enclosed courtyard, which feeds to the new education, cafeteria and function facilities in the newly converted adjacent areas.  The vaults also formed part of the project which depicts the lot of American Independence prisoners and Napoleonic War prisoners once held at the Castle.
