After graduating from Heriot Watt University I have worked for Contractor and Consultants and have a broad range of structural engineering experience over a wide variety of projects, large and small.

Of late I have become particularly interested in Conservation projects with a recently completed a refurbishment of the historic Edinburgh High Street; Acheson House http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acheson_House

Additionally, the refurbishment and change of use from the historic Brewhouses and Kilns at Sugarhouse Close to a 300 bed student accommodation within the world heritage site. http://www.oberlanders.co.uk/projects/housing/sugarhouse-close/

On the new build side, other notable projects include the relocation of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies to a new £30m facility at Easter Bush, where it has become a state of the art facility for education and animal welfare. Additionally the Dundee Student Villages project involving the creation of 1100 new student bedrooms across Dundee for the University of Dundee.

I have an ability to think out of the box and to provide novel and bespoke solutions to challenging problems. I manage a team of Engineers and Technicians within the office to deliver design solutions to our Clients.

My past experience includes projects ranging from planning heavy lifting operations (lifting 200Tonne Generators to large civil engineering structures (Teesside power station)

Finally, being one of the SER certifiers within the practise I perform certification services within the SER scheme.
