Will Rudd Davidson are seeking motivated individuals to join our well-established Engineering Team in our Glasgow office.

  • Senior Engineer x2 positions

  • Project Engineer

  • Senior Technician

  • Technician

Civil and Structural engineering design experience would be beneficial.

We are currently working on a wide variety of projects across several sectors including; Education, Residential, Healthcare, Industrial, Office, Commercial, Retail and Hospitality.

We are also on the Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers (CARE) where we are currently working on some unique projects looking at the adaptation and re-use of existing historic buildings.

In our Edinburgh office, we are seeking:-

 

  • Enthusiastic Civil Engineer/Civil Engineering Technician

 

A good level of competence and understanding in the use of PDS and Microdrainage.  We are a small, friendly team with an interesting and varied workload focussing on development infrastructure, both on team projects and advising other WRD teams on infrastructure and drainage aspects of projects.

Engineer Roles:

  • Involvement in projects from inception through to completed construction
  • Assist Senior Engineers / Directors in the technical delivery of our projects
  • Production of structural design calculations and analysis models
  • Work closely with technicians in the production of models and drawings
  • Production of sketches, reports and specifications
  • Attend progress and design team meetings
  • Work closely with other Designers, Contractors and Clients
  • Site visits to monitor works at construction stages of projects
  • Experience/attributes required
  • BEng/MEng Civil/Structural Engineering Degree
  • Min 3 years’ experience working with Civil / Structural Consulting Engineer
  • Experience in the design of structural materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Experience in new build and refurbishment projects
  • Contribute positively to team and embrace responsibility and knowledge progression
  • Good communication skills; experience in working closely with in-house Engineers as well as external parties; e.g. Architects, M&E Engineers etc
  • Passion for engineering, an eye for detail and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Pride in standard of work produced
  • Experience in the use of different analysis software packages
  • Ability to problem solve and work with minimal supervision
  • Ambitious
  • Ability to sketch and do hand drawings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience/attributes desired

  • Progress towards membership of ICE/IStructE
  • Working understanding of roads and drainage
  • Working understanding of BIM processes
  • Competence in PDS and Microdrainage (for Civil Engineer role)

Technician Roles:

  • HNC/HND Civil Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with civil / structural consulting engineer
  • Experience working with major structural materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Experience in new build and refurbishment projects
  • Contributes positively to team and embraces responsibility and knowledge progression
  • Good communication skills; experience in working closely with in-house Engineers as well as external parties; e.g. Architects, M&E Engineers etc
  • Passion for engineering, an eye for detail and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Pride in standard of work produced
  • Understanding of draughting principles
  • Ability to problem solve and work with minimal supervision
  • Ambitious
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Revit
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience/attributes desired

  • EngTech qualification with relevant professional institution
  • Reinforced concrete detailing
  • Roads and drainage
  • Civil 3D/PDS/Microdrainage
  • CADS RC
  • Working understanding of BIM processes

Intermediate to Senior level will be considered.
